The Teen Health Centre has been funded by Health Canada to educate and develop programs relating to Hepatitis C in Windsor – Essex County.

GOALS: To improve the quality of life of people who are suffering from Hepatitis C. To increase education, prevention and understanding of Hep C.

PROGRAMS:

HIP 2 HEP

• To increase knowledge of Hep C to youth

• To increase understanding of coping skills, healthy choices, and feelings

• To create a youth-for-youth promotional campaign

OUTREACH

• Increase knowledge of Hep C and its effects.

• Increase knowledge of community resources and literature

• Education on prevention, treatment, interventions and harm reduction

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS

• Increase knowledge of treatments, prevention and counseling interventions plus harm reduction

• Recognizing the similarities between Hep C and early recovery

• Understanding the Phases of Hepatitis C

• Stigma and Hepatitis C
