Youth shoot hoops at Waterworld

WINDSOR – There will be basketball, food, and prizes at Waterworld in downtown Windsor on Thursday.
The Begley Kids Alliance Youth Council will be hosting a free afternoon of hoops at Waterworld on Thursday, March 9, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. with a free-throw taking place from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  This event is ongoing and will take place every other Thursday.
“The Begley Youth Council is excited to host a free event for youth who live in the downtown core area,” remarks Zakia Abouzeeni, Kids Alliance facilitator. “Nowadays, there are not many free after-school events, but this one is definitely going to attract large number of youth.”
Activities will include a free-throw and will wrap-up with a 3 on 3 mini-tournament.  Participants will also receive a complimentary nutritious snack to help them reenergize.  All are welcome to attend. Waterworld is located on Wyandotte Street East at Glengarry Avenue.
Kids Alliance is a program of the Teen Health Centre. The program is a youth-directed initiative where students form youth councils and organize events ranging from neighbourhood beautification to safety seminars to community events such as this week’s winter fest.
