The symptoms of depression are different for each person. Here are some common examples.

Down or irritable most of the day, nearly every day. Feeling sad, “blue,” down in the dumps, bored, empty inside, or hopeless all of the time.

A lack of interest in pleasant activities, and not being able to enjoy what would normally be pleasant activities.

Significant weight loss or gain when you aren’t dieting or an increase or decrease in appetite.

Insomnia or sleeping too much nearly every day.

Extreme fidgeting or feeling very tired and slowed down.

Fatigue or loss of energy.
-
Feeling very guilty or worthless.

Having trouble thinking, concentrating, or making decisions nearly every day.

Recurring thoughts of death or suicide.
-
Easily frustrated/angry.
-
Hopeless
