BECOMING YOUR BEST: LIFE SKILLS PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS

The activity goal is to enhance the development of life skills and to raise awareness of issues related to alcohol and drug use.

The program will promote positive and healthy lifestyle choices through the development and enhancement of communication skills, goal-setting skills, problem-solving skills, positive risk-taking, assertiveness skills, stress management skills, and the discussion AOD issues and related community resources.

P.A.D.’s (Parents Against Drugs) Challenges, Beliefs, Choices Program

A peer-led training and education program, where senior secondary school students learn facts on alcohol and other drugs as well as group facilitation, problem-solving and communication skills. Trained students become peer facilitators for grade 8 students to discuss issues around alcohol and other drugs.

Make connections with school councils and offer assistance with AOD education, parenting education, and create an awareness of existing AOD prevention activities for youth.
